I am super excited about this convention because it is also my first time ever in LA and riding a plane!

I have not written a journal entry in over a year. I don't really use deviantart other than to upload art prints or fully finished drawings.

Also someone has accused me of stealing their name? I have been on dA for over 10 years! I have been Mayuiki for over a decade!

It's crazy how fast time goes by. I'm really surprised I've been using dA for 9 years???? I'm pretty sure I was not very active early on, but still 9 years!! I wanted to a least update with a journal entry since my last was in March.

Short highlights of 2013.

I was officially hired full time at my company.
I had a table to myself at to 2 cons last year!

I am still very new to the artist alley/convention scene. In the past 3 years I attended 4 conventions? It was mainly a once a year thing since I lived locally.
I'm slowly developing my inventory too. I hope to learn more from other artist alley-ians...(artist alley artists) and artists in general.

2014 will be somewhat hectic. I have around 3 cons (Katsucon, Springfest (<- actually not sure about this one), Anime Boston) coming up and some I would like to attend. I am still trying to find a good way to balance real work and this work. I've been sleeping less which has been taking a toll on my health.

New year's resolution? Improve in art and health! AND!! to also finally start and continue my comic. (it's a secret for now)

Not trying to shamelessly plug my facebook page but I really update there more often. I post work in progresses and it's a bigger art outlet for me than here or tumblr.

I have not written a journal since Halloween. A lot has happened since then but so far....
I was in a slump for a while because I wasn't sure what I was doing and everything I did kept falling apart.. anyways no sad stuff!

Springfest! This weekend was my first time at Springfest. It was a lot smaller compared to comic con but I liked it a lot. (Maybe it was because the school that hosted it was also my college??)

This was my third convention. I barely got much sleep the week of because I did a lot of last minute preparation. I got called in for work Wednesday - Friday so I did everything at night. (I really should be sleeping now... heheh)

I had about 4 new prints (Godoka, Homestuck, Mirai Chan, Pokemon XY Starters), wonder nyan stickers, 2 new vocaloid keychains (cul and aoki lapis) and other miscellaneous things.

I met some really really nice artists which I am super happy about. I go to cons about once a year so I don't really get to mingle and I feel very forgettable.
I like talking to people (TAT) I don't bite.
The con goers were really sweet too.

Overall I would totally do this again next year.

Happy Halloween everyone!

I realized I have not posted in almost a year. It's about time for an update.

Current Status:

As some people might know Hurricane Sandy (or as I call it....East Coast's Walpurgis Night*) caused a lot of damage to NYC and plenty of other states.
I am thankful that we are okay. Yes it was devastating but we still have each other and are alive.

Seems like the location where I lived received minimal damage. I know my friends  had flooding up to their knees in their homes and power outages. I am not sure about the exact status since I am still on my bed. It's 8 am.

I have to work from home in a little bit.

So from that. I have a job again....as of October 1st. It's a 3 month freelance gig which I hope gets extended haha... I need the money for insurance 8( Cuts into my drawing time but worth it!

NYCC 2012:
Talk about late posts. So this year was my second year at NYCC or any con. I was very hesitant at first because of the AnimeFest merge. It was like me against the pros and I consider myself still noobish. I prepped for half a year though since I was not working for about 6 months   It was weird because I never had so much focus and inspiration to keep drawing so I was surprised I was able to get so much done!! It was totally worth it though, all the stress and tears (yes I cried a little because I felt defeated at one point TAT). I was happy for those 4 days even if it was super tiring AND! it was FUN!!

I met some really really cool and nice people. Everyone was very friendly too. Thank you very much!!!! Thanks for buying my stuff as well. I am super grateful!

Oh even though I sat behind a table the whole time at the Artist Alley I dressed up! haha I had it all planned out. Day 1 - school girl (it's cosplay of the me in my friend's comic...no lie!!) Day 2 - maid Day 3 - Chitanda Eru! I bought like circle lenses and hair extensions which I sadly had to take off because it was highly irritating otherwise it would have been perfect >< Day 4 - black and white sailor dress from bodyline (gothloli??)

I have A LOT of prints left over. I'm setting up a shop soon. I'll post another link soon.

I am focusing on drawing for a bit now. I have a list of 17 pics/projects I want to work on. I haven't really drawn in a while up until this year. I might do Kal 3 on and off though but there's a lot of ground I still need to cover to make this game 100x more dynamic than the previous ones. UNFORTUNATELY my bffl got me POKEMON WHITE  2 so that is a day eater. I'm on my way to the 7th badge *^*
